Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - DaimlerChrysler AG announces Friday its Mercedes Car Group will recall about 50,000 cars due to a potential problem with the windshield wipers.

According to the Associated Press, Mercedes will recall Vaneo models built between April 2002 and March 2003, and A-Class models built between April 2002 and 2003. Analysts say the recall will mostly affect buyers in the German market.

Accidents relating to the problem have not been reported.

Meanwhile, DaimlerChrysler refuses to disclose how much the recall will cost. Earlier this year, Mercedes recalled 1.3 million vehicles to repair problems with the alternators and batteries.
