The wraps around a new near-production Roadster concept model will be removed by Mini this September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It will be a sporty two-seater alternative to the Mini Cabriolet. Patterned after the present-generation Mini, but it will come with a lower windshield and roofline.

Better handling is achieved due to a lower center of gravity compared to the standard model. No official word yet concerning powerplant line, but the same engines are expected like the rest of the range together with the 208bhp 1.6-liter turbo found in the Cooper JCW. It will be the fifth model in the Mini range (following the Mini crossover) when it goes on sale next year, with a sixth generation model upcoming soon enough.
