Although concept cars are not the main dish of the auto industry, they serve as a preview of what the main dish will be. This year, those dubbed as the best concept cars in their category by the Southeast Automotive Media Organization (SEAMO) includes the Cadillac Converj, Fisker Karma S and VW BlueSport Roadster.
The SEAMO North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards have been given out for the past succeeding eight years to concept vehicles of the preceding year which are considered to be the most innovative and attractive. The award for 2009 Specialty Concept Vehicle of the year went to the Cadillac Converj. The 2009 Production Preview of the Year award for almost-ready design and flawless styling went to the Fisker Karma Sunset Concept. The last honor which was the overall 2009 Concept Car of the Year was awarded to the Volkswagen BlueSport Concept for its efficient, fun and elegant packaging in addition to its diesel drivetrain.
