Due to the fact that its lineup is relatively new, it seems that Mazda will now focus on improving the powertrain technology. According to Autonews, by 2015 Mazda’s upcoming models will come with new fuel-saving features such as idle-stop and direct-injection spark ignition, technology that will show a 30% increase in fuel economy. Also, the Japanese manufacturer will continue to improve its state-of-the-art rotary engine and it is likely to see it in the upcoming 2013 RX-8.
