Most of you folks know that Volkswagen is currently working on a successor for the popular Touareg SUV but nobody knows when the new car will be launched… until today! Speaking with our trusted sources from the German manufacturer, we found out that the new Touareg SUV will make its official debut in 2010 at the Detroit Auto Show.
The second generation of the Touareg also means a weight lose because the Germans are counting on massive use aluminium in order to make the new vehicle lighter. Regarding the engines, Vw is planning to bring new engines, more powerful and with a better fuel consumption! One bad news is that the 2011 Vw Touareg will lose the V8 engine in favor of a supercharged V6.Regarding the hybrid version of the SUV, this will carry a system developed by Bosch, capable to develop around 50 hp and connected to the 3.0 TSI V6 petrol engine.
