Toyota will offer the 2010 Avalon in three grades: the standard XL, the XLS, and the top-of-the-range Limited. The 2010 model is the third generation of the model first rolled out in 1995. A 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates 268 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque will power all three models.
To get outstanding performance at all engine speeds, Toyota installed the Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT-i) and a dual-stage variable intake manifold. The engine will be mated to a six-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). The car is able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds. The car is reported to have a fuel consumption rating of 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
