One of the most bizarre vehicles featured at the Tokyo Motor Show is the electric Nissan Land Glider Concept. Measuring at about 43 inches wide, the Land Glider has wheels and fenders that tilt, allowing the car to lean as it goes around curves in the road. The narrow two-seater vehicle uses individual electric motors positioned above its axles, allowing the car to lean 17 degrees while cornering. While taking curves at full speed, it is the tilting body that keeps the narrow vehicle stable. According to insiders, the concept is seriously being considered for the automaker’s luxury Infiniti brand lineup in global markets, including the US. Takashi Nakajima, director of exploratory design for Nissan, said that this is the second phase of its electric-vehicle design.
