Meanwhile, Nissan’s French partner, Renault SA, is deep into partnership talks with Daimler. It’s likely that these talks will expand into three-way negotiations. Last week, there were media reports that three-way negotiations are ongoing that an equity tie-up is possible. Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn, who also heads Renault, stated that he is open to an equity exchange. Later this week, Ghosn will brief Nissan executives about the details and goals of Renault’s partnership talks with Daimler.
