It's the car hot-hatch fans have been crying out for! Our exclusive images, inspired by spy shots that surfaced on worldcarfans.com this week, show how the long-awaited Fiesta ST will shape up.

Ever since we first drove the new Fiesta, our current car of the year, we've been calling for a more powerful version to enter production and now it seems someone at Ford has heard us.

In the spy shots an intercooler is clearly visible in the lower front grille, confirming that there's a turbocharged engine under bonnet. The most likely candidate is the 180bhp 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine first seen in the C-Max, allowing the the Fiesta ST to take the fight to rivals from the VW Group such as the Skoda Fabia vRS and VW Polo GTI...
