It appears that European luxury brand have decided that it is time to offer premium-badged small cars in the United States, according to the latest reports from Automotive News.

The first manufacturer to consider this is Bmw who is planning to sell a front-drive car slotted below the 1-Series while Mercedes-Benz may bring its next-generation B-Class. And they are not alone, as Audi and Volvo are considering similar vehicles. “We have a couple of challenges in front of us,” said Jim O’Donnell, president of BMW of North America.
