CEO Sergio Marchionne has revealed the five-year plan for Fiat. One of the most anticipated parts of the announcement was the segment on his plan regarding new Fiat cars based on Chrysler platforms.
This list includes a new 2013 Alfa Romeo Spider that will be based on Chrysler’s rear-wheel-drive platform. At this point, Alfa Romeo will have achieved its long-awaited US return with the next-generation MiTo, along with a large Giulia sedan and station wagon which was launched in 2012. The use of a Chrysler platform hints at the Mercedes-derived rear-wheel-drive platform used for the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger.
