Jean-Pierre Diernaz has been named as Infiniti’s marketing director for Europe, Russia and the Middle East. The 41-year-old Nissan sales and marketing specialist is known for having raised the brand awareness of Nissan in Europe after serving as the general manager of marketing communications since 2007.
He takes the place of Bastien Schupp, who is set to serve as Infiniti’s country director for Austria. In a statement, Diernaz said that the brand had a “solid start” in Europe in the last 18 months; however, Infiniti is faced with the chance to make a mark in Europe with the impending launch of its diesel range and the arrival of its M line sedan. It was in 2008 that Infiniti debuted in Europe.
