Ford announced today that it has selected LG Chem’s U.S. unit Compact Power Inc. to supply battery packs for the electric version of the Focus compact car which will be produced starting in 2011.

ccording to Compact Power, the first lithium-ion battery packs will be produced by LG Chem, but later they will be produced at new site in Holland, Mich.
