The Toyota Prius’ existence in Europe has hit a decade, with 200,000 units sold since it was first introduced. It was in 1997 that the full hybrid version of the Prius was introduced in Japan but it was only in 2000, that it arrived at the European market.

At first, the full hybrid Prius wasn’t received well in Europe since many preferred the diesel vehicles’ capabilities. But Toyota persevered and promoted the car, which later went on to become a symbol for all hybrid vehicles.
