Here's an interesting bit of news; Nissan may be thinking about giving the 200SX a new life.
Yup, that's right.
In the overflowing sporty, small-car market, it appears there could be room for a Nissan to slot in under the 370Z. And with word of Mazda bringing back the RX-7 we say, "why the hell not?"
Details remain quite vague, so, we'll have to wait and see if this actually pans out.
Can Nissan make a business case for such a vehicle when it will likely have trouble sourcing a proper platform for the rumored 200SX?
Nissan is poised to take on the reborn Mazda RX-7 and VW Scirocco with a follow-up to its 200SX coupé, insiders say.
The new two-door, which would effectively replace the 200SX that was axed in 2002, would slot beneath the 370Z to give Nissan a more fuel-efficient and affordable fastback to counter the Scirocco and Renault’s three-door Mégane.
The new Nissan would be rear-wheel drive, as before, but the challenge of finding a suitable platform on which to build it is proving difficult...
