At the start of next decade, BMW is set on utilizing technology that will give its cars double or triple the life spans of existing production vehicles.
The car industry will have to make some major adjustments in order to comply with the CO2 reduction legislation as well as the peaking of oil production and rapidly expanding cities. BMW will be using the radical carbonfiber construction and separate chassis of BMW’s Megacity Vehicle to underpin a considerable number of its upper end output.
