Saab was quick to deny reports that it’s about to collaborate with Volvo Car Corp. on producing a new model. Saab clarified that there had been no talks with Saab with regards to product development. An earlier report from Swedish business daily Dagens Industri had indicated that Volvo, which was recently purchased by China's Zhejiang Geely, wants to cooperate with Saab to build softtop convertibles.
The publication had cited its source to be Volvo spokesman Olle Axelson, who later told Reuters that Volvo hasn’t actually met up with Saab over product development but that the company is always open to discussions with other carmakers.
