Let's face it, when you think of a fun-to-drive hatchback, the Volvo C30 doesn't come to mind. Although when 00R drove it, he had a good time, it is just up against some seriously tough competition with cars like the Mazdaspeed3 and Volkswagen GTI.

But Stefan Jacoby is out to change that.

As we see in the rendering down below, it seems like there is going to be more of an effort to implement the styling of where Volvo is at with the XC60. The 2011 Volvo C30, which just had a minimal refresh, has a face that doesn't match the body. It shows.

What this rendering does though, is show the potential of what a sexy -- yes, a sexy Volvo, I said it -- C30 could look like.

Watch out Volkswagen, Volvo is teeing up its Golf rival. The Swedish firm is set to launch a practical, five-door version of its C30 hatch. But creating the newcomer doesn’t merely involve grafting on an extra set of doors.
