Ford Motor Co. has hired 38-year-old Max Wolff for its newly created position as Lincoln’s design director. Wolff, a native of Australia, will start working in this role on Jan. 3. Wolff has served as the design director for Cadillac exteriors since 2007 and he now steps in this position in the wake of Ford's promise to offer seven “new or significantly improved” vehicles to Lincoln in the next four years.

Wolff had worked for General Motors Co. where he held different positions in design and was assigned in South Korea at GM Daewoo Auto & Technology. Wolff is credited for contributing to the design of the Chevrolet Cruze compact.
