When Hyundai first announced the flagship Equus, one of the most unusual features might have been that the owner's manual was on an iPad.
More gimmick than substance you say? After watching this video of the real owner’s manual in action I want you to be the judge and think of the possibilities.
Customization of the experience is the key here. If they programmed the VIN into the device at the time of purchase, then it could be customized to include only the options your car came with. Your car would be viewed in the correct exterior and interior colors as well.
Recall notices and service reminders could be sent to the device as well other notifications. Now it makes you wonder if other companies will follow suit with an iPad type device or simply create apps to enhance the owner experience. People like my wife MIGHT actually read the manual for once.
Pretty amazing!
