Jeffrey Kaffee, a retired airline pilot from Parsippany, N.J., recently became the first customer to take delivery of a pre-ordered Chevrolet Volt, a plug-in hybrid. He returned early to pick up the keys for the Volt at Gearhart Chevrolet in Denville, N.J. According to a General Motors Co. statement, Kaffee traded in a Toyota Prius. Kaffee's car is the first of 360 Volts being shipped recently from GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant.
