When most people see a small car they typically mutter "You couldn't pay me to get into one of those things! Imagine what it'd be like in a crash?"

Well, Gordon Murray is out to change that. The man responsible for the McLaren F1 has been tinkering around, for quite some time, with his new city car the T.27. Built using a Formula One-inspired composite monocoque and other production techniques, the car held up surprisingly well.

Note that the cabin has not been penetrated from what we can see and that the cage remained intact.


Gordon Murray Design is celebrating a crashing victory after its T.27 electric city car impressed in recent testing. The T.27 was subjected to the mandatory EEC frontal impact test, which means driving into a deformable offset barrier at 40mph...
