A lot of the time when a manufacturer does a refresh of a vehicle, they don't exactly make the best improvements or it is merely cosmetic. If you received that impression about the 2012 Nissan GT-R, I think the videos below may dismiss those thoughts.

With an additional 45 horsepower and the renaissance of Launch Control in the 2012 GT-R, the car is more thrilling than ever. And it even has LEDs! Sorry, I couldn't contain my sarcastic enthusiasm about the LED craze.

Regardless, the 2012 GT-R is said to do zero to 60 in less than three seconds and is ready to spank the pants off of any competitor at a red light.

...the launch control is back on the 2012 GT-R’s equipment list in a revised form that allows customers to use it four times in a row, before shutting off in order to protect the transmission. Just like the original, the new system (LC4) launches from 4,000 rpm, but it’s better at minimizing wheel spin, making the latest and more powerful (+45HP) iteration of the Japanese sports car a lot faster compared to the 2010MY GT-R in a straight line race...
