One car that has been put head-to-head against the BMW M3 is the new 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302. This limited-edition street car is suppose to be the no nonsense Mustang.
Although one can make the argument that Ford had to go through a lot of trouble to reach the M3's capabilities, you have to give credit where it's due considering the hardcore 'Stang is still cheaper than an M3.
The real question, at the end of the day is simple:
Can a Ford Mustang realistically go against an M3 and come out on top OR even remain close?

Ford’s Jim Farley is well-known among autojournos for off-the-cuff remarks, but as he stands in a Laguna Seca garage, facing approximately twenty members of the Press As A Whole, he manages to deliver a real bunker-buster, one which speaks directly to this humble writer’s heart.
