Renault SA Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn made a personal apology to three wrongfully accused executives as his board met to weigh sanctions over the mishandled spying investigation that led to their dismissal.

Renault today retracted claims that upstream development chief Michel Balthazard and two other senior managers had sold company secrets after Paris Chief Prosecutor Jean-Claude Marin said the carmaker’s espionage allegations had been discredited by a police investigation.
