A Honda Motor Co Ltd factory in Mexico's Jalisco state may suspend up to half its workforce as inventories run low following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, a local newspaper reported on Wednesday, citing a company spokesman.

Honda produces the CR-V sports utility vehicle at that plant and the temporary job losses would affect about 1,100 of the factory's employees, the newspaper Reforma wrote.
