General Motors Co will suspended production at its Shreveport Assembly plant in Louisiana next week because of a parts shortage resulting from the crisis in Japan, the company said on Thursday.

The plant, employs 923 hourly and salaried workers and builds two pick-up truck models: Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.
