If you don't remember but 1989 was a good year. Case in point, Lexus introduced itself to the U-S-of A and brought with it the first Lexus product. The LS400.

To keep things simple, it was the Hyundai Genesis of its day. It redefined the luxury experience and gave plenty of other automakers something to worry about.

One of the first spots featured the LS400 with a set of wine glasses being taken up to 145 mph on the dyno. None of the glasses move or break, however, we are a tad bit skeptical of how legitimate this "test" really is.

Granted, as we see with Lexus' new advertisements, it isn't wise to call their bluff since they did just hook up a bunch of cars to a chain and drive an LFA under them.
