BMW Lets A Select Few Into Its Secret Underground M Lair, V12s & One-Offs Galore!

If you hadn't been keeping an eye on recent spy photographs, you would have missed out on the BMW M3 "El Camino" pick-up truck thing. Yeah, it's technically real but BMW made it as an April Fool's joke. Har har.

However, when BMW did the unveil today at an M Event in Germany, they also took a group of individuals into the underground BMW M garage. To say this is an unprecedented event is an understatement.

After getting behind-the-scenes access, I am sure the eyes of some in attendance must have bulged out of their skulls. There sat some of the most incredible and specialty BMWs known to exist on this good green Earth. Look at this list:

- The infamous BMW "M8" that was thought to have been destroyed
- A unique creation, the BMW E46 M3 Touring
- Le Mans winning BMW V12 LMR
- BMW X5 Le Mans, a personal favorite of mine

What a treat. While covering the M Event in Germany today, Jason and Southlight were invited to tour the BMW M facility, including underground into BMW M's garage. No not the employee parking garage-- THE GARAGE. Yes, the garage where BMW M stores a copy of every single M car ever made. Many of them you or I have never seen or heard of before. Cars that we may have thought about or dreamed about, but never materialized.
