UAW President Bob King said today the union is working on a “new formula” for income for its members workers in contract talks with the Detroit Three.

King, who was interviewed today on WJR-AM (760), wants to boost entry level workers in contract talks with General Motors, Ford and Chrysler.

Under the current contract, which expires Sept. 14, GM, Ford and Chrysler can hire entry level workers for $14 to $16 per hour, or about half the $28 per hour average wage of traditional workers.
