Safety Research & Strategies Inc., a Massachusetts-based auto safety group that often works with attorneys suing automakers, filed suit seeking records under the Freedom of Information Act in connection with an alleged sudden acceleration incident in December 2010 in Sarasota, Fla.
NHTSA declined to turn over a nine-pag field report as well as photographs and videos.
