So your first impression may be that this is yet another Volkswagen speedster concept, which would only be HALF right. The other half is a new play.

That new move, folks, would be the installation of a near 700-pound battery. Yup, another electric vehicle. As seen from the writing on the side, this Volkswagen Beetle has been dubbed the E-Bugster.

Featuring an electric powertrain, this juiced-up Beetle is said to have a 114 horsepower and 199 lb.-ft. of thrust. But it's not exactly a revolutionary product as it can only go 100 miles on a charge, which isn't really changing the range of electric vehicles.

We'll mark this on our "concept" list simply because we aren't sure which would hit showroom floors first: the battery or the styling.

What say you, Spies? WHAT would make sense to you? A more appropriate competitor to the MINI Cooper Coupe or a full-on electric Beetle?

Stay tuned to AutoSpies, 001's on the prowl and we'll be the FIRST to get you the BEST shots from the show floor...
