The 2012 Beijing Motor Show is turning out to be quite an interesting little automotive event this year. With a bunch of all-new concepts making an appearance, it could be the next major auto event to attend.

One of the products making an appearance at the motor show is Mercedes-Benz's CSC Concept. That's the name the Germans are sticking to right this second but we're pretty much convinced that this car is essentially the CLA in concept form.

As we've been tracking for several months now, Mercedes is planning on launching a "baby CLS" that will priced at an affordable barrier of entry and be on the smaller side.

But like all concepts, it's clear that Mercedes has been shifting towards a more evocative sense of style. While cars like the C, E, and S-Class remain conservative, other variants like the E-Class Coupe, CL-Class, SL-Class, CLS, and now CLA are starting to trend towards highly stylized autos.

This is what will makes the CLA a very important product for Mercedes-Benz: I think it will define where the brand takes its look based on its success or failure.

Right now the biggest sellers in Benz's lineup are the C-Class and E-Class, which are conservative and milquetoast in comparison to vehicles like the CSC. The BIG problem is that while its products do well sales wise, they aren't stomping the competition.

In this little game called the auto biz, it's all about market share.

All of that said, what's YOUR verdict on the CSC Concept? Is the CSC a STUD or a DUD?
