Chrysler Group LLC's flagship brand is up 222 percent in California in the first three months of 2012 — by the far the biggest increases among all brands in the nation's largest auto market.

In the first quarter, cars accounted for 62.7 percent of all vehicles sold in California — up 1.5 percentage points over the same period in 2011. SUV sales fell to 24.4 percent of sales in the first three months, down from 26.3 percent in the same period last year.
