Hyundai’s current-generation Tiburon has been widely regarded as one of the most attractive in its genre, thanks largely to its Ferrari 456-like surfacing. But the car’s driving experience and general refinement has been its Achilles heel, a half-step behind class leaders like Acura’s RSX.

Unfortunately, early word indicates that updated Guangzhou Motor Show car seen here is likely largely a cosmetic nip/tuck, meaning that the Tib (known simply as the ‘Coupé’ in China) will make do with the 2.0-liter I4 or 2.7-liter V6. Hopefully, some substantial changes underhood and in the car’s underpinnings are in the mix, but for now, intenders will have to sate themselves on the images seen here.
