Ford has really made a name for itself with the whole EcoBoost marketing scheme and its accompanying engines and guess who appears to want to bank off of that success and take note of Ford's playbook?

Chrysler.

You can't blame them either; however, instead of taking the Ford route entirely, there is a TWIST involved: It's going diesel.

That's not entirely unexpected as its now European roots have a say in the company's decisions.

Word on the street forecasts a diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300; however, there's hasn't been any word if they'll only be available only overseas or in the U.S.-specific market.


Chrysler is set to introduce a range of frugal diesel engines across its brands, starting with the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300 initially and spreading to other models if demand necessitates...

...It reads “EcoDiesel 3.0” and was registered by Chrysler with the U.S. Patents and Trademarks office late last month. The 3.0 figure in the badge denotes the displacement of the diesel engine Chrysler plans to install in several models in its lineup....
