With Hyundai enjoying solid success with its Sonata and Azera front-wheel drive sedans, the Korean automaker is looking to expand its reach upward to the larger margins in the near luxury segment.
To that end, the next generation Equus, a rear-wheel drive, eight cylinder sedan already available in other markets will debut in the US as a 2008 model. Captured hot weather testing by legendary sniper Hans Lehmann’s crew in the Southwest, the car is likely to continue Hyundai’s penchant for high levels of standard equipment and cut-rate pricing.
