For this one you're going to have to look VERY hard as the new "face" of Mercedes-Benz's E-Class is going to receive a subtle revision.
Oh yeah, and there's a bit of camouflage that's attempting to hide the changes before the FULL reveal.
The good news is that the camouflage isn't all that great. From what we can see, it's pretty evident that the E-Class Coupe will follow the E-Class Sedan in its change from a quad headlight setup to a more conventional single unit for each side. While other publications have said otherwise, these latest shots seem to show the real deal in play.
Please note the shutline of the hood where it meets the headlight -- it has a single, sweeping line. In addition, also note that in the initial shot the vehicle's passenger-side blinker is activated. If you look closely, you can see that the blinker flows all the way down into the area where the high beams or daytime running lights rest.
I am not sure if this was a wise decision on Mercedes' part simply because the quad lights really made the E-Class stand apart from its A-Class and C-Class counterparts. Now this consolidation makes the E less of a standout amongst the brand's other classes.
Another detail you can quickly spot is the new grille on this particular prototype. While Mercs of yore used to feature a good amount of lamellas, it appears that this prototype is sporting a grille featuring only one lamella. Perhaps it is a sport packaged-equipped model?
