I remember when I first saw the Mercedes-Benz Ocean Drive concept. "Who in their right minds would want a four-door S-Class convertible?" I shrugged.
I guess if Nissan was bold enough to go where no man had gone before with the Murano Cross Cabriolet, why not?
But that's where things get interesting. From the spy shots we've seen it's not clear if this "S-Class Cabrio" is really that at all. Because from the photographs, it appears to be a heavily camouflaged CL-Class. Technically speaking, if Mercedes were to bring the CL-Class under the S nameplate it would be an S-Class convertible; however, it would lack those two extra doors.
OR Mercedes could be using the CL as a development mule until the four-door body gets sorted out.
