NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 1, 2006) – Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) reports sales of 86,408 units in July, which is a decrease of 16.2 percent from the prior year, when NNA posted its best sales month ever. While the Nissan Division saw a sales decrease of 16.0 percent over last year, the new Versa subcompact experienced strong first full month, with sales of 2,856 units. The Infiniti Division posted a sales decline of 18.1 percent versus the prior year.
NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS
· July sales for Nissan-brand vehicles of 75,860 units decreased 16.0 percent on a daily sales rate basis when compared to last year with 93,905 units sold.
· The new Versa subcompact was off to a good start with sales of 2,856 units.
· Maxima, significantly redesigned for 2007, posted a sales increase of 10.9 percent versus the prior year.
INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS
· Sales for Infiniti were down 18.1 percent with 10,548 units sold as compared with last July’s 13,395 units.
NNA INFORMATION
· Combined July sales for Nissan and Infiniti totaled 86,408 units, a 16.2 percent decrease when compared to last year with 107,300 units.
