As I've been keeping an eye out for criticism and fallout after the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette's debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, I've noticed that it seems to be a pretty polarizing exterior design. It's just about 50/50 in terms of love it or hate it, with most of the haters already being 'Vette haters for quite some time.

What I have noted is that a lot of folks seem to be put off by the all-new Corvette's venting. The funny thing is though it's all functional. This isn't like the Lexus IS-F with its silly fake side "vent" and fake exhaust tips — while I dig the IS-F it would have been much better without making it so easy to hate those little details.

The 2014 Stingray exemplifies stunning exterior design. Distinct aeronautical lines. Intricate ventilation systems. A sleek, sculpted finish. See how purposeful aerodynamic design yields a fully functional exterior and a totally new breathing experience.
