British auto maker, Jaguar is planning to release their “ultimate road-going XK”, called the XKR-S GT at the 2013 New York City Auto Show.
Developed by Jaguar’s in-house specialty vehicle group, Engineered to Order (ETO) division, the exterior of the XKR-S GT boasts many aerodynamic enhancements to improve performance out on the track. The aggressive body style features carbon fiber upgrades, including a front-splitter, extended wheel arch spats, dive planes, aluminum undertray, ventilated hood, a new rear diffuser as well as a massive rear wing.
The track tuned, but road going XKR-S GT, will feature a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine developing 550 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque. The V-8 is matted to a six-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels via an active electronic differential system. Complete with paddle shifters, the XKR-S GT sprints from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and is electronically limited to 186 mph (299 km/h).
