I remember someone cawing like a bird that the Acura RLX wasn't that bad and it was actually the top of its class. Clearly, it's not. And it doesn't take much more than reading the vehicle's Monroney to understand it's a pretty weak offering.
And yet another reviewer goes on to call it out for being, frankly, lame.
Here are a couple of my favorite bits:
Strip away the $61,345 price tag and ignore all of its competitors, and the 2014 Acura RLX isn't a bad car.
...
Unfortunately, the RLX has plenty of competition, since it swims in the choppy waters of the midsize luxury pool. Its peers throw into sharp relief the fact that the RLX feels and drives too much like a Honda to justify even the $48,450 base price.
...
Eager driving was further discouraged by the transmission's manual mode. Start tapping the standard paddle shifters and the car rolls off upshifts so slowly you'd think they were relayed by carrier pigeon.
I am not sure about you guys and girls but I am enjoying the show with my tub of popcorn. Oh, and for all the naysayers that say "There are positive reviews out there," please submit them via that BIG red button on the top left corner. I have yet to see one.
