It was just the other day when I was cranking out some work and a new email message came in. It was from my independent shop, Redline Speed Worx. Though I am used to an incentive here and there, this one actually was different.
According to a study, car owners seem to strongly prefer the work done by independent shops.
Hm, interesting. In a pretty unbelievable stat, about 87 percent of participants said that their independent shop's quotes were MORE affordable than what they received at the dealer. AND 67% of respondents trusted their little shop over the dealer.
This got me thinking: WHY do I go to my independent shop? My reasoning is simple. My car has a lot of modifications and I do trust them more as the shop has a more competitive labor/hour rate. Not to mention the techs came from the dealership world anyhow.
That said, I was wanted to know the Spies' perspective:
Do YOU go to the DEALER for repairs or an INDEPENDENT shop? Do YOU TRUST an indepedent shop MORE?
