I am pretty sure there's a saying about imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, or something like that. But in this business I'd think that Volkswagen Group (VWAG) is a little bit pissed at this point.
Though it's been seen numerous times before, a Chinese automaker is shamelessly ripping off the design of the Volkswagen Taigun concept quite badly.
In patent images, the vehicle looks pretty close to what you'd expect from an automaker taking a concept to reality. Some of the details have been swapped out; however, a BIG chunk of the end product remains the same.
Here's the crazy part. You have to keep in mind that VWAG is attempting to launch the Taigun in the Far East come 2016. The Chinese company, Jiangsu Lake Motors, is trying to patent the design before it goes on sale!
To quote a wise man I know, I am pretty sure he'd say something along the lines of "That's hockey!"
