At the auto shows in recent years, Audi has been toying around with us and the idea of a Quattro remake. And, the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) wasn't any different. That's because, once again, the Quattro made yet another appearance.

This time it had a very, very interesting twist.

That would because this time it features a biturbo V8 plus a lithium-ion battery pack that puts total output at nearly 700 horsepower. According to the internet rumormill, that means this would be a flagship vehicle for Audi that would actually sit above the much loved R8 sports car.

From where I am sitting it appears that if Audi actually produces this thing it will be its competitor to the likes of the BMW i8.
