A forum user at 2addicts from South Africa made a nice little discovery today while doing his "daily routine check." Apparently BMW has added the 2-Series to its online configurator.

This is HUGE news, especially as BMW wasn't shy about revealing the vehicle's specifications, pricing and options.

We recommend you GO CHECK IT OUT ASAP if you're interested because this may have been a website update not meant to go live just yet!

Unfortunately, as of now, there are zero pictures of the product but here's some preliminary information off the bat:

- The M235i will receive 322 horsepower
- A straight conversion of the South African price yields a U.S. price of just over $50,000 — likely the base price will be a couple of thousand or so lower
- It will be slightly quicker to 60 than the M135i, which has been receiving TREMENDOUS praise abroad

There's TONS more of details on the BMW forum. I highly suggest you click "Read Article" below if you want the nitty gritty — colors, trims, etc.

I'm happy to announce that the 2 series has gone live (no pics unfortunately) on the BMW South Africa configurator website! My heart almost stopped when I did my daily routine check.

AND THE M235i IS REALLY AFFORDABLE AND HAS 240 kW (322 hp) INSTEAD OF THE M135i's 235 kW (320 hp)!

It's also slightly faster to 100 km/h than the M135i!

Here is the link to the configuration on BMW SA's site:

ALL OPTIONS CAN BE CHOSEN AND THE RELEVANT PRICES ARE ALSO REVEALED!!!

The full performance spec sheet for the M235i, 220i and 220d are attached below.

Prices directly converted from SA rand to US dollar just for fun:

M235i: R503079.40 (~$50307.94) (US pricing will be lower)
220i: R366257.20 (~$36625.72) (US pricing will be lower)
220d: R393000.00 (~$39300.00) (US pricing will be lower)

If you're wondering how the price compares to other BMWs, just have a look around the configurator and compare for eg. the price of the M135i and M235i. The difference is tiny!
