Spied recently working its way around the legendary Nürburgring was a new McLaren test vehicle. Sporting the body of an MP4-12C Spider, it doesn't look different aside from its mild camouflage job and matte paint.

While a publication abroad is thinking this is the all-new Sport Series or P13, it can be just about anything, really. That's because I am pretty confident that McLaren can use the MP4-12C/650S chassis to develop any of its product portfolio as we know it.

That's because all of McLaren's rides use that 3.8-liter V8 mill. The 650S and P1 already are employing it and word on the street is suggesting that the Sport Series or P13 will use a detuned variant of it that will produce, give or take, 450 horsepower.

Given that this vehicle is using the MP4-12c's body, I'll be assuming it's the upcoming Sport Series/P13/whatever.

It would make sense that McLaren is developing the car on the 'Ring as we've heard the Porsche 911 is its benchmark and the 'Ring is its domain.
