Personally speaking, one car I've always had an affinity for is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It's always been practical, reasonably spacious and provided a comfortable ride that's become slightly sportier over the years for those out there wanting a bit more communication.

It's a nice sedan that's been doing quite well in the sales department over the years, but the current-gen product is starting to wear out its welcome. It's that time of the product lifecycle again.

Although it's been spotted previously, the all-new E-Class has been seen sporting a modified C-Class's body. Now though it appears the vehicle is wearing its own sheetmetal though it's heavily camouflaged head-to-toe.

It appears that the vehicle is equipped with minimal body cladding on the hood but that's about it. From what we can see it's clear the auto will feature the design language of currently existing Mercedes products. THINK: prominent front grille flanked by two sweeping headlights.

Around the back end the vehicle appears much more swoopy than designed with hard edges. If you ask me, it seems like the overall appearance is far more elegant and S-Class-like than the E-Class days of yore where it looking like it was suffering from a severe case of middle child syndrome — it looked unique, that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

In addition, our friends from Auto Bild gave it the 'ol college try and rendered it. While it's still very early in development and largely indistinguishable at this stage, it's interesting to see what may become the all-new Mercedes E-Class.
