A car that's been discussed heavily among the high-performance sports car crowd is the all-new McLaren Sport Series, internally known as P13. As the once little British supercar manufacturer continues its quest to build a larger product portfolio, the next competitor it has taken dead aim on is the Porsche 911.

First it was the Ferrari 458 Italia, then the Porsche 918. Let's see how the fight goes down this time.

As of now information remains VERY slim. What we can gather at the moment is that the vehicle will likely be equipped with a detuned 3.8-liter V8 used in the 650S and P1. Currently the consensus is that around 400-450 horsepower will be on tap, and like all McLarens, it will benefit from the most advanced technology taken straight from its Formula 1 efforts.

In this all-new teaser image, it actually looks a bit like a Ferrari 360 Modena from the front. But if you look closer along the sides you'll note the placement of its mirrors and its P1-inspired air intakes.

We're thinking life will get pretty interesting in the $100,000 sports car segment with the likes of this, the Z06 Corvette, Mercedes-AMG GT and whatever else is coming down the pike.
